Hire an experienced food writer/ cookbook author to craft copy or develop and test recipes.

A childhood spent swiping my mom’s Gourmet magazines from the mailbox to devour them before she could destined me for a career in food writing and recipe development.

After earning a degree in English-creative writing, I worked as a lifestyle writer at a suburban Atlanta newspaper where I tackled all lifestyle issues, including the weekly food section. Then, there was a move to NYC to earn a culinary degree from the Institute of Culinary Education.

After stints working at a New York Times three-star restaurant and as a personal chef, I edited recipes for Art Culinaire, a quarterly publication geared toward restaurant chefs. I logged a couple years as Senior Editor at Chile Pepper magazine, where I developed and tested recipes for the spice-obsessed audience combined with writing and editing duties. This spicy expertise landed me on Martha Stewart Radio discussing my recipe for Sriracha Wings (because Sriracha makes everything better), as a bhut jolokia expert on NPR’s “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me” and with weekly blog posts on fiery food for the James Beard-award winning website Serious Eats.

Currently, I am a New York City-based freelance lifestyle writer and recipe developer. I have written for countless websites and magazines, plus recipe edited for MarthaStewart.com and Made With Love: Meals on Wheels Family Cookbook. I’ve developed recipes for corporate clients, restaurants, magazines, food councils, food companies, etc, and am the author of The I Love Trader Joe’s College Cookbook and The Artisan Soda Workshop. I contributed recipes to Kiwi magazine’s recent cookbook, Allergy-Friendly Food for Families. I also ghostwrite a variety of services from blog posts to book proposals to recipes.

When I’m not writing, reading or developing recipes, I’m experimenting with homemade dog food for my pooch and crafting the perfect apron. I can be reached at andrealynn27@gmail.com.
